Order Fulfillment and Product Substitution Policy

We strive to fulfill every order precisely as it was received. From time-to-time, we may be unable to fulfill your order as requested. This means, for example, that we may run out of a specific product that you ordered and/or experience issues with delivering your order to you. We reserve the right to substitute similar products of equal or greater value in order to fulfill your order in a timely manner. We also reserve the right to deviate from your requested order delivery date or requested order pickup date as circumstances dictate. For example, if you order Jumbo Dungeness Crab and we run out of the product before we are able to fulfill your order, we reserve the right to substitute an equivalent weight of Regular Dungeness Crab instead. Another example:  if our Jumbo Dungeness Crab are running on the lower side of the target weight range, we may add one Regular Dungeness Crab for each two Jumbo Dungeness Crab in your order. We reserve the right to make your order available for delivery or pickup later than the day that you requested. We also reserve the right to completely cancel an order and refund 100% of any charges that were captured in the event that we are unable to fulfill all or part of your order in a timely manner. Rest assured that these circumstances rarely (if ever) arise. Awesome Customer Service is part of our corporate DNA!

Shipping Policy

We go the extra mile and use the services of PeriShip for all our shipments. PeriShip is the leader in the management of overnight shipping of food perishable products. PeriShip exclusively uses FedEx. PeriShip is trusted by the most discriminating and demanding shippers and receivers of food perishable products, including famous chefs, premiere white tablecloth restaurants, world renowned resorts, and retail markets that specialize in only the highest quality products. With PeriShip and FedEx our products are sure to arrive in peak condition.

All perishible items are shipped via FedEx Overnight Services (specific service selected depends on the shipping address.) Non-perishible items, such as dried fruits or t-shirts, are often shipped via FedEx Ground.

Incorrect addresses:  We ship to the exact address you enter at checkout. Please take a moment to ensure that the address is correct before finalizing your order.

Unopened shipments:  All boxes are clearly marked “Perishable” and must be opened and the contents refrigerated upon receipt.

Gifts:  Surprises are great and fun, however if there is a remote chance that the recipient will not be home, he or she must be notified of the gift arrival to avoid product spoilage. Please notify recipient of the pending arrival of perishables!

Orders sent to multi-unit dwelling such as apartment buildings may not be released unless someone is home to accept them. Please consider shipping to your work address where you can refrigerate your perishable products upon arrival.

We ship within the Continental United States only. We do not ship to international destinations, Alaska or Hawaii at this time.

If you entered an incorrect shipping address and your package has shipped, we are happy to contact PeriShip and do our best to reroute your package. Please note, however, that we will not assume responsibility for any incorrect addresses provided to us. In the event that the package can be rerouted in transit, delivery, return and re-delivery charges will apply. We also will not assume responsibility for time-in-transit damage due to address errors.

If your package is damaged during shipment, please contact Customer Care within 24 hours of receiving your shipment at (415) 944-7871 or email Same Day Seafood Inc. Customer Care at customer.care@samedayseafood.com so that we can arrange a reshipment of your order.

Q:  Will I receive an e-mail confirmation for my order?

Yes. If you order online, a member of our staff will email you to confirm the order.

Q:  When can I expect my delivery?

FedEx Overnight deliveries generally arrive the next day after shipping, but there is no guaranteed delivery time. FedEx does not provide any guaranteed delivery date or time for Ground shipments.

Q: Does someone need to sign for the package when it’s delivered?

We automatically authorize FedEx to deliver packages without a signature. This is to avoid the package being returned to a FedEx warehouse and redelivered at a later date. That said, we strongly urge that someone be present to accept the package. If you would like to require a signature for your delivery, please write us a note in the “special instructions” box when placing your order.

In some instances, FedEx will exercise the right not to release without a signature (for example, a neighborhood appears unsafe or an apartment building has no access). We will not be held responsible for packages that were delivered late or spoiled because a recipient was not home and FedEx was unable to release.

Packages over $500 must be insured and a signature is required upon delivery.

Q: Can I have my package delivered on a Saturday?

FedEx charges an additional $15.00 for Saturday delivery. Packages generally arrive before 3:00 PM on Saturday, depending on the area, but there is no guaranteed delivery time. There is no Sunday or Monday delivery via FedEx for perishable PRODUCTS. Before placing your order, it is your responsibility to confirm that FedEx services the delivery zip code on Saturdays. Please call FedEx at (800)-GO-FEDEX.

Q: How are perishable items packaged?

We use high-quality insulated shipping boxes that are filled with gel and/or ice packs. Our packaging can maintain quality and freshness for up to 48 hours in transit.

Q: How can I make a change or cancel my order?

If you need to make a change or cancel an order, please call Same Day Seafood Inc. directly at (415) 944-7871. Any changes or cancellations must be placed at least 48 hours in advance of the shipping date.

Shipping claims and exceptions

Please inspect your package immediately upon receipt. All claims must be filed within 24 hours of receipt. We will work with our partners at PeriShip and FedEx to re-route orders for timely delivery but cannot be responsible for damaged or compromised product due to the following:

  • Delayed deliveries due to weather or other “Acts of God”
  • Incorrect addresses
  • Unopened shipments (all boxes are clearly marked “Perishable” and must be opened and the contents refrigerated upon receipt.)
  • Gift shipments sent to recipients who are out of town or otherwise unavailable to receive their shipment.

Returns Policy

Unfortunately, we do not accept returns of any of our products.
